Our Mission

The San Diego Coalition to Stop the Genocide in Sudan was formed to draw attention to the grave humanitarian crisis in the Darfur region of Sudan and areas in Chad where Sudanese refugees have fled.

By intensifying the spotlight of world attention on Sudan, we are committed to applying pressure to the world community to intervene as forcefully as necessary to stop the genocide in Darfur. We will not allow the government in Khartoum to feign its lack of responsibility for the genocidal actions of the Janjaweed militias.

Our mission is twofold:

First to rapidly and broadly, raise awareness of the horrific situation in Sudan.

We must stop the genocide!

By multiplying exponentially the world's reaction to the crisis, starting in our own back yard, we will demonstrate that the people of the planet will no longer tolerate genocide. We are committed to injecting some reality into the refrain....

Secondly, we will help marshall the resources to address the food, shelter, hygiene, and health needs of the refugees and internally displaced people of Darfur.
